Griefriends strives to:
provide a spiritual and social context where healing from grief can occur, recognizing that grievers need an opportunity to share their grief outside of themselves in a caring environment, and that the refusal or inability to do so reduces the capacity to enjoy life, loving and living.
bring understanding to the belief that grief is an experience to be embraced and befriended and not an enemy to be fought, and to accept the emotions of grief as occurring from the privilege of having the capability to love another person.
create an environment where grief can be felt, and where mourning can be safely and effectively embraced and integrated into our lives. By feeling grief, and embracing mourning within the confines of an environment that allows us to do so safely, we recognize that doing so will bring the healing necessary to live life with a renewed sense of well being and purpose.
